Vintage Playing Card Teetotum Charm Pendant Gold
Vintage Playing Card Teetotum Charm Pendant Gold
Queen of Spades, King of Hearts, and Jack of Clubs are represented in multicolored enamel on this vintage, six-sided teetotum charm pendant. The Ace of Hearts, Seven of Spades, and Ten of Diamonds are also present. A teetotum is a small spinning top that is typically used in place of dice for gambling games. The Ten of Diamonds has an impact mark and two of the diamonds are missing their enamel. How entertaining it is to imagine the life of this pendant and if it was actually used to play games, or just adorned as a piece of jewelry. The amusing part is that it was probably used for both, the wearer being ready at any time for a game!
