This opulent Scottish amethyst necklace features large, oval and pear cut amethyst gems set in unembellished mountings attached with gold cable chain. There is a triangular amethyst as a dangle off of the largest center gemstone. The box clasp is delicately engraved with elaborate decoration. It comes with a white, foldable leatherette holder with ribbon snaps to hold it in place and a hidden snap closure on the front. Although the provenance was not specific, it is believed the necklace was created in the 1860s and has royal connections. It certainly has the stature to be worn by a royal.
